WhatsApp Calling Tab Launching On Desktop

WHATSAPP DESKTOP CALLING:

WhatsApp calling has become vital for people who find it difficult to connect to calls over the mobile network. It works on low bandwidth and you can use both audio and video call forms.

But for a long time, it was limited to the mobile slant, and people asked for desktop call support. Well, it looks like their prayers have finally been heard by the messaging platform.

According to a new report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is introducing a calls tab for its desktop app in beta. The bookie claims that with the Calls tab, desktop WhatsApp addicts can get their call history and possibly the ability to make WhatsApp calls directly from their PC.

Right now, we don’t know when this option will come to the messaging app, but we’re sure that its addition will make it the perfect Google Meet and Zoom option for many addicts.

With this feature, you will see a call tab on the sidebar of the app to help keep track of all your call information. Now WhatsApp can also sync all call details with mobile devices. WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is constantly working on rolling out updates and new features for its mobile and desktop users. The goal is to improve user experience along with security.

In addition to these latest rollouts, the social messaging app is also testing the calls tab while also rolling it out to the beta version of WhatsApp for Windows, which runs on both iOS and Android. The rollout of yet another sidebar in WhatsApp beta came through the 2.2240.1.0 update earlier. This section gave users easy access to their chat list, status updates and settings.

HOW CAN IT WORK?

The report says that the “Call” tab will be located between the “Status” and “New Chat” options in the upper left corner of the WhatsApp desktop app interface. By tapping on Calls, users will be able to view their WhatsApp call history as well as make calls from the app itself. It’s hardly surprising to see WhatsApp considering bringing calls to its desktop app.

In recent months, the messaging app has added a useful calling tool called Call Links, which basically allows you to create a link for a WhatsApp video/voice call and share it with other people who will join the call. While the desktop app is being beta tested, we hope WhatsApp will consider bringing this feature to the web version of the messaging platform as well. Having said that, since the new option is still in beta, we can’t be sure if WhatsApp will make it available to everyone or not.

Summarizing:

According to a report by WABetaInfo, once this feature is rolled out to all users, this new call button will be available immediately when a user opens the WhatsApp Windows app. If you don’t see it, you need to restart the program. The tab will show the history of users in the desktop application, as well as relevant information related to calls on the calling card.
